www.coral.co.uk – The biggest domestic club cups in the world was at its fourth round stage this weekend and for everybody that was hoping for a few surprises was only left with Swansea’s fantastic 2-0 win at last year’s winners Portsmouth.
Two 1st half goals won it for the Coca cola championship side with the 1st being scored by on loan striker Dyer and then a Jason Scotland penalty on the stroke of half time were enough to crank up the pressure on manager new Tony Adams questioning his ability to manage at the highest level so early in his Coaching career.

Arguably the tie of the round was at Anfield with Liverpool and Everton battling out yet another Merseyside derby and it was less surprising that it once again ended in a stalemate with Lescott scoring the opener for the away side then who else but Stephen Gerrard sending this game into a replay at Goodison with a typical finish.

Manchester United fought out a 2-1 victory over Tottenham in the other 4th round game at Old Trafford with Russian Pavluchenko heading Tottenham into an early lead before Paul Scholes and then spurs old boy Berbatov sent the Red Devils into the 5th round.
Chelsea sailed through their home tie with Ipswich 3-1 with midfield maestros Lampard (1) and Ballack (2) scoring the goals for Chelsea. Crowd trouble marred Hull’s 2-0 victory over Millwall with the South Londoners fans intent on causing trouble and I feel it is time for the FA to take action against this clubs fans once and for all.

Sunderland and Blackburn will have to do it all again after drawing a blank at the Stadium of light. West Ham and Fulham overcame lower league opposition to progress and Arsenal had to battle hard in their 0-0 draw with Cardiff.

www.paddypower.co.uk – The match between Manchester United and Chelsea could be considered one of the most highly anticipated match as Man U faces off with arch-rival Chelsea, who is currently leading in the Premier League charts. Much speculation has been going around that Man U was of no match against Chelsea. Claims of Man U being afraid to face-off with Chelsea can now be deemed as only rumors which hold no truth in it.

Manchester United displayed great team spirit and their players were eager to emerge as the winners. The match ended with a final score of 3 – 0 as Chelsea players and manager left the stadium feeling disappointed and thoroughly defeated.

The opening goal came in just before half-time by Nemanja Vidic with the help of his team members. This wasn’t too bad yet as Chelsea was still able to close up the small gap. The next goal came in at 63 minutes into the game by Rooney, which brought the game up to a whole new level.

Chelsea players must have felt the intense situation. Despite the lack of threat towards Man U, Michael Carrick was not allowed on the field, which indicated that Chelsea had only one striker, Drogba. In times like this, a desperate call to play the attacking position should have been employed.
The final straw came about, which left Chelsea absolutely no way in regaining victory for that night was when Berbatov scored just 3 minutes before closing time. Fans were upset with Berbatov for not scoring earlier on in the game could now rejoice for this have closed the gap between Man U and Liverpool.

coral.co.uk – Allen Stamford

www.coral.co.uk – The game of Cricket has hit the headlines once again this week and yet again it is for all the wrong reasons.

PLAY NOW

Allen Stamford who is a Texan Billionaire with a love for the beautiful game if Cricket is threatening to pull out of his 5 year plan in the twenty-twenty format of the game. All this seems to have come about after the English press cruelly in my opinion wrote bad things about the man after he was spotted with a few of the English players wife’s in a bar with one of them being pregnant (wicket keeper Matt Prior’s wife) sat on his lap, while their husbands were out playing in the multimillion winner takes all tournament that happened over in the Caribbean a couple of months ago.

The Texan billionaire Allen Stanford’s commitment to cricket was mired in uncertainty on Wednesday after his spokeswoman said he was "evaluating his options" following reports he was turning his back on the game was the official response from his camp but you cannot help thinking it is all the British Press that are to blame after they once again write things before finding out the truth which unfortunately is a common occurrence with the journalists of today.

Personally with the credit crunch as it is today also you cannot help thinking that Mr Stamford also wants’ to hold on to what he has piled up over the years and with him already giving his superstar team 20 million US dollars for beating England you can’t help thinking he is utilising a clause in his contract that gives him the chance to pull out without completing the 5 year contract he had signed up for.
