Manchester City fans have a lot to celebrate at the moment after a big money take-over made them the richest club in the world.

The club has already secured the services of Brazilian star Robinho and there is plenty of speculation on who will follow him to the City of Manchester Stadium in January.

The clubs new owners have said they will make an audacious bid of £134 Million for Cristiano Ronaldo in january as well as putting in offers for Cesc Fabregas and Fernando Torres. Now I think it’s fair to say that none of those will happen but there is plenty of betting interest in some of the other candidates.

Unbelievably it is as little as 25/1 for Ronaldo to cross Manchester when the window opens again. It should be more like 250/1 for that ridiculous suggestion. More interestingly Barcelona striker Thierry Henry is fancied at 11/2 to return to the premiership wearing sky blue. It does seem hard to believe it could happen but Henry is definitely unsettled at the Nou Camp and the chance to star along Robinho and get paid a hefty fee to do so would have him thinking.

The one that has caught the eye though is Michael Owen at 10/1. The England striker is desperate to get back into the international set up and with all the uncertainty at Newcastle may look to leave this winter and join up with a team that will give him the service to score.
